Competition Rules

  1. Each school may send a maximum of 10 teams, each comprising a head chef and an assistant. Each student can only participate in one team.
  2. Participants are required to bring their own utensils and ingredients based on the theme set by the Challenge Committee. All preparations including cutting, washing and marination, as well as plating and decoration must be done during the competition. 
  3. The main ingredients of the meal may be prepared by the Challenge Committee at Finals. 
  4. Every team must present one dish for overall judging and prepare a separate dish for the judges to taste. 
  5. Participants are advised to wear caps and aprons during all stages of competitions. No slippers/sandals are allowed in the kitchen/competition area for safety purpose. 
  6. Participants must ensure that the workplace is dry and clean at all times. Participants are required to clean up after the competitions. 
  7. For the recipe video submission, participants are required to cook an omelette in 2 minutes. The video has to be concise and creative, with very little formal explanation in presenting the recipe. Introduce the ingredients in an engaging way. The video doesn't need to be instructive, but a clear instruction could always be provided by having the cook explain the process as he/she goes along. 
  8. Participants must attend the competition for point rewards. 
  9. The Challenge Committee reserves the right to modify or substitute any of these rules from time to time without prior notice to the participants.
